Strategy

During discovery, it became clear that while Diamond operates across several specialist sectors, they aren’t separate businesses. They share the same expertise, approach and capabilities, all sitting under Diamond Product Design Co.

That shaped a key decision for the identity: we didn’t want to create five separate brands.

Instead, we built one strong parent identity for Diamond Product Design Co. that could then segment into four distinct sub-brands. Each needed to feel relevant and recognisable within its own sector, while clearly belonging to the wider Diamond family.

So rather than designing each mark in isolation, we created one visual system from the top down. The parent mark establishes the core structure, and each sub-brand takes that same foundation and adapts it to tell its own story.

Design system

The original Diamond Product Design Co. mark starts with the D. Built from four geometric sections, the letterform creates a subtle diamond shape within the negative space, bringing the company name into the mark without relying on an obvious diamond symbol.

Those four sections then became the foundation for the wider identity system.

For each specialist division, the same basic construction is retained but the internal forms are adapted to introduce a new visual idea.

VetTech creates a subtle paw print through the curved linework.

MedTech uses negative space to form a medical cross, with diagonal geometry influenced by the Star of Life.

AgriTech introduces concentric curves that suggest the canopy of a tree, connecting the mark to agriculture, nature and growth.

FabriTech rotates the four sections to create a fan-like form in motion, referencing the iterative nature of fabrication and prototyping.

The result is five marks built from one recognisable visual language. Each can stand confidently on its own, but together they reveal the wider Diamond system.

Feedback

From start to finish both Scott was creative, open-minded and communicative. I gave him a really difficult task with what I wanted out of my branding and they delivered over and above already high expectations (I'd heard great things through word of mouth).

The communication was ideal, the way they presented their work was flawless, and you can tell how much work they'd put into their craft. What we ended up with is a really clever and cohesive design system that will let me grow with professionalism and credibility, plus a timeless mark which I'm really proud to rep!
